Three Questions to ask your child

As our school year draws to a close, I find myself wishing for more time! There is so much for the students and I to share yet!  I have so enjoyed our year together.  We each have helped each other grow.

Here is one nugget I have to pass on to you parents who get to continue building the wonderful personalities of your children day by day.  The post linked below has suggestions for ending each and every day with your child.  As a parent and grandparent I know we wish the best for our dear ones.  This especially includes giving them a sense of being loved and cherished, of safety and an environment that helps them grow to be the best Christian adult they can be.  We want our children to to know they are loved by us, and by God.  When the day has been a hard one, we want them to know absolutely that they are forgiven and still loved.  This post can help with that.  I know you all have ways to connect with your children.  They, and I thank God for you.  It is my prayer that you all have a wonderful summer growing closer to each other and to God.  Hope to see you at worship and VBS. Midland Center for the Arts

Our first bus field trip was a success!  Thanks to a bus grant from Midland Center for the Arts we traveled free to the museum today, May 15.  It was the last day of a special exhibit on Leonardo da Vinci.  Leonardo was a genius artist and inventor, and had been an "exhibit" at our Living Wax Museum played by Jacob.  We also spent time in their permanent exhibit enjoying the hands on music, teleprompter to forecast the weather, and the mastodon fossil.  Thank you to our chaperones Mrs. Cox, Mr. Fisher, and Mrs. Sowatsky!

Living Wax Museum

What a great crowd of visitors came to our Wax Museum!  Thank you!  The 20 "exhibits" at the museum did a great job from start to finish to make the wax museum a great place to visit.  Each student carefully read a biography and took notes on the important facts.  Next, a report was written from these notes.  Short notes were placed on a 3 x 5 inch card and the speech was practiced and memorized.  A costume was planned, and we were ready!  Below are some of the famous people found at our museum on May 12.

Eleanor Roosevelt, Dr. Suess, Annie Oakley, Sally Ride, Neil Armstrong, Mozart, Rosa Parks, Henry Ford, Steve Jobs, Sacajawea, Sojourner Truth, Amelia Earhart, and more!

OurClass Picture at Fowler School

Fowler School

Monday, May 4, 1895 was our time travel destination at Fowler School.  We had a great day using the books and methods of that time era to learn and play.  Each student became one of their ancestors, as did I.  I was their teacher Miss Lorna, my grandmother who actually did teach in a one room Lutheran schoolhouse!
