I enjoyed this article from the Wall Street Journal. The excellent writer (who happens to also be a scientist) recounts his childhood fun with a chemistry set, and his carefree days of summer. Besides the fun, it awakened his creativity and problem solving abilities. Don't we want that for our children? Read his excellent suggestions.
